CTV has announced that Victoria’s Adrian Chalifour will compete in season two of ‘The Launch.’
The Towers and Trees frontman is one of 30 finalists vying for the chance to record an original song. In each episode 5 finalists audition to a panel of music executive Scott Borchetta, singer Marie-Mai and two other celebrity mentors. Based on the season one format, two are chosen to record the given song and one version is “launched.” Chalifour will appear in episode 6 which features Niles Rogers as the song producer and Bebe Rexha as the guest mentor. The episode airs Wednesday March 6, 2019 at 8pm PST on CTV.
In a public statement on his personal Facebook, Chalifour says, “I applied to The Launch in a brief moment of bravado; a self-dare to step outside my comfort zone and try something new. When they phoned me and asked if I’d come out to Toronto to appear on an episode, it felt surreal, like I was an actor playing a guy named Adrian. But the moment I found out I’d be standing in a room with Nile Rodgers, Bebe Rexha, Marie Mai and Scott Borchetta, with nothing between us but a microphone and guitar, it became very real very quickly and I knew it’d be my most extraordinary experience in music yet!”
