After a long two year wait that included multiple rescheduled dates, Dan Mangan returned to Victoria to perform at The Royal Theatre. For fans in attendance, it was worth the wait.

Mangan performed a 20 song set. During a couple points in the show, it turned into a mass sing-along. The show had the interactive intimacy of a house concert, but with hundreds of people in a large theatre.

It was a bit surprising that the theatre wasn’t more full. We checked ticket availability before the show and the Royal theatre’s website only showed a few seats available. With the number of times the concert was rescheduled, it’s possible some couldn’t make the new date or flat out forgot it was happening.

A perk those who weren’t at the show missed out on was a free audio recording of the performance. Mangan told everyone to text ‘Victoria’ to a phone number and a dropbox link to an mp3 of the show would be sent days later.

Opening the night was singer-songwriter Georgia Harmer. She is the niece of multi-Juno award winning artist Sarah Harmer and it’s clear music talent runs in the family. Harmer also performed a song with Dan Mangan during his set.

The concert was presented by MRG Live
