SoundON is providing BC music presenters and artists direct support to get back to creating live music experiences.
Through an $500,000 investment from Amplify BC, the BC government and Creative BC plus contributions from public and private partners, SoundON is providing grants of $5000 to produce live streamed concerts and other music programming featuring BC artists. 2021 is the second year of the program.
Presenters can apply for a grant for production support administered by Music BC. For every successful application, artists will receive a guaranteed fee and all crew, presenters and designers will be paid.
The first round of applications will be accepted from January 26, 2021 to February 26, 20201. A second round of applications will be accepted from April 26, 2021 to May 31, 2021. Events will take place between March 1 and August 15, 2021.
More than 70 shows will be funded.
The programs goals include celebrating local music, providing direct funding support to the BC music sector, and presenting music on a variety of digital platforms across BC.
