Victoria blues musician Jason Buie has died. He was 47. The news of Buie’s death was made public by his brother in a statement made on Facebook Thursday March 22, 2018. Buie died unexpectedly in his home in Esquimalt.
The cause of death has not been made public.
In January, Buie was named ‘New Artists of The Year’ at the 2018 Maple Blues Awards in Toronto and had a number if gigs lined up including an opening spot for The Odds scheduled for Upstairs Cabaret in May.
The family is working on service arrangements that they will make public in the next few days.
