Samantha Fish featuring Jesse Dayton, Fantastic Negrito and Allison Russell will headline the 2023 BC Smoke Shop Habour Blues ‘n Roots Fesitval.

The Victoria Jazz Society and BC Smoke Shop will present the festival Friday August 25 to Sunday August 27, 2023 with shows at Ship Point and Hermann’s Upstairs.

Singer-Songwriter/blues guitarist Samantha Fish and vocalist/guitarist Jesse Dayton will make their debut Friday August 25 at Ship Point. Fish is the world’s number 7 ranked blues guitarist according to Guitar World. Opening the show is Rifflandia 2022 performer Boy Golden.

Saturday August 26 features another Rifflandia 2022 performer in three-time Grammy Award winning blues, soul and rock artist Fantastic Negrito with blues singer-songwriter Ndidi O.

Closing out the festival on Sunday August 27 is four-time Grammy nominated singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Allison Russell with The Blue and Bold, a music collaboration with Juno-nominated singer-songwriter Ndid O and folk/roots guitarist/banjo player Trish Klein.

Friday and Saturday will also feature evening concerts at Hermann’s Upstairs with Mazcote and Golden.

Free shows will also take place at Ship Point on the Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The lineup for those shows are still to be announced.

Tickets to the feature shows at Ship Point are $39 per night or $99 for all three. Evening shows at Hermann’s Upstairs cost $28 each night.

Tickets go on sale Thursday May 25, 2023 and are available at the Victoria Jazz Society office, The Royal McPherson box office and rmts.bc.ca.
