6. Fintan O’Brien – Overwhelmed (August 2015)
This was a video project that was as last minute as it gets. At 4:46pm August 8th I get a Facecbook message from Fintan O’Brien asking if I’m available to shoot a live video that night because some YouTube vlogger with a large fanbase posted a clip of him performing in downtown Victoria and suddenly his YouTube channel was getting a sudden increase in traffic. I tell him “sure, but I don’t have any lighting.” He drives to Long & McQuade just before it closes and rents a light. I show up just before 7pm and we shoot a few takes for almost two hours. By 11pm I’ve sent rough takes for Fintan to look over and at 5am the final version was sent over. It was one of those moments where despite have zero plan going in, everything just fell into place and worked.
