18. The Orphans at Logan’s Pub- Elegy (June 18, 2016)
10 days pased their Facebook page’s one year anniversary and the night before they released their debut single ‘When The Lights Go Out’ I happened to catch The Orphans opening for Rugged Uncle at Logan’s Pub after covering FernFest. Every year I try find some new bands to cover and this is one of those bands I had seen the name flash by during my binge of adding concert listings to the Victoria Music Scene calendar, but had never really heard anything about. I was really impressed with their set.
This is a young band… At least one of them isn’t even 19 yet. The have only released the one single in 2016 and a demo in 2015. Give them another year or so of refining their sound and I think you’ll be seeing a lot more from them.
