Victoria has been announced as the host city for the 2015 BreakOut West Conference and 2015 Western Canadian Music Awards.
Back in February, the City of Victoria allocated $25,000 towards the bid to host the event after the province kicked in $50,000 and the Capital Regional District arts committee agreed to commit $25,000.
BreakOut West and the WCMA’s will take place concurrently with next year’s Rifflandia Festival September 17 – 20, 2014.
The conference is estimated to have a local economic benefit of $1 million with 250 – 300 delegates expected to attend.
