Lacey-Lou Tapas Lounge has launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise $30,000 of operating capital for the downtown Victoria art and live music restaurant. Open since mid-April, the lounge has been running day to day due to cost overruns during renovation of the former Rising Star Bakery/Broad Street Kitchen site on Broad street.
The venue is home to local art, music, comedy, a locally crafted menu, and beer and cider from local companies. I recently attended a concert there and found it to be a great spot for live music. I compare it to Fort Street Cafe, except much bigger with better sight lines and nicer decor. They really have created a warm inviting space for the local arts scene.
Perks offered for donating to the campaign range from handmade thank you cards, drink ticketss, half price lunches, admission to private breakfast parties, free admission to events, to hosting your own private event.
The owners and staff have clearly put a lot of love and work into restoring a heritage space and launching a new venue to showcase local music and art. It’s the type venue that has been missing in the downtown core for a while. This is an idea that deserves the community’s support.
To donate to Lacey-Lou Tapas Lounge’s Indiegogo campaign, CLICK HERE. The deadline to donate is Sunday July 13, 2014.
Even if you are unable to donate now, walk inside Lacey-Lou Tapas Lounge and check out the space for yourself. Have a drink. Try the food. Experience the live music. I walked in on a whim last weekend and walked out thoroughly impressed.
