The Phillips Backyard Music Festival returns to Phillips Brewery Friday July 10 to Sunday July 12, 2026. With 27 bands/artists over three days including one of the most buzzed about acts of the year, it’s going to be an incredible weekend of live music.

Day 1 – Friday July 10
Dacey – Main Stage (5:00)
Dacey are an alt-R&B/indie band based in Vancouver. Their music blends R&B, jazz, neo soul and bedroom pop. Fronted by Dacey Andrada, Dacey released their latest album ‘Before I Leave Your Mind’ in January.
Nicky Mackenzie – Main Stage (6:00)
Nicky Mackenzie is a Victoria-based singer-songwriter originally form Salt Spring Island. Her music takes influences like Alicia Keys, Amy Winehouse and Joss Stone. She last performed at the Phillips Backyard in 2024.
Cartel Madras – Main Stage (7:00)
Cartel Madras is a hip-hop duo from Calgary. The sisters Bhagya “Eboshi” Ramesh and Priya “Contra” Ramesh are originally from India and their music is described as ‘Goonda Rap’ mixing hip-hop with house, punk, electronic and South Indian influences. Cartel Madras are a late add to the lineup after Victoria’s Sophia Stel dropped out due to a scheduling conflict.
Duckwrth – Main Stage (8:10)
Duckwrth is a rapper from Los Angeles. His 2025 album ‘All American Fckboy’ received a Grammy nomination for ‘Best Immersive Audio Album’. His music blends hip-hop with rock, electro and R&B.
Chance The Rapper – Main Stage (9:40)
Closing out Day 1 of the festival is 3-time Grammy Award winning hip-hop artist/producer Chance The Rapper. The show at Phillips is a one-off Canadian date before he begins his ‘Coloring Book Ten Year Anniversary Tour’ of mostly U.S. dates starting in August. The one other Canadian stop will be Vancouver in late September.
Bukola – Dylan Willows Stage (5:30)
Bukola is a Vancouver-based Nigerian-Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist. Her music blends R&B vocals with jazz guitar and earnest storytelling. This will be Bukola’s first time performing in Victoria.
Mikey Jose – Dylan Willows Stage (6:30)
Mikey Jose is a pop/R&B singer-songwriter from Vancouver. His music blends western grooves with Filipino soul. Not only is he a musician, he’s also a PhD candidate in Neuroscience.
Blush. – Dylan Willows Stage (7:40)
Blush. are an alternative indie rock band from Victoria. Their sophomore EP ‘In The Grey’ was released in May, one month after being The [email protected]’s April 2026 Zone Band of The Month. Their music is inspired by shoegaze, 90s rock and folk.
Kimmortal – Dylan Willows Stage (9:10)
Kimmortal is a queer Filipino-Canadian singer-songwriter from Vancouver. Their most recent single ‘SWOLETARIAN’ was written as a gay anthem for queer and trans people to blast while working out.
Saturday July 11
Carmine – Main Stage (4:30)
Carmine is an alt-rock band from Victoria. They were featured as a Zone Band of The Month in May 2025. Carmine’s sound ranges from gritty and spiteful to sweet and playful. Their debut EP will be released in September with their new single ‘Want Me To’ having just been release July 3rd.
Flower Face – Main Stage (5:30)
Flower Face is Montreal-based singer-songwriter Ruby Mckinnon. Her music has been described as alternative indie, folk-pop and even goth-folk.
Jon and Roy – Main Stage (6:30)
Jon and Roy are a folk-rock/reggae band from Victoria. If you’ve lived in Victoria for a while and haven’t heard of Jon and Roy, what rock have you been hiding under for the last two decades? They’ve performed countless festivals on the island and host the Jon and Roy Holiday Special concert in Victoria that sells out every year.
Sudan Archives – Main Stage (7:45)
The last time Sudan Archives performed at the Phillips Backyard in 2023, she lost her passport and the airline lost her gear and wardrobe. She ended up finding something to wear at a nearby sex shop. Despite the travel issues, the Los Angeles based violinist/singer-songwriter’s mix of electornic music, R&B and rhythmic fiddling was one of the most memorable performances at Phillips Tilt 2023.
Father John Misty – Main Stage (9:15)
Headlining Day 2 is Indie rock singer-songwriter Father John Misty. The former Fleet Foxes drummer is known for his satirical lyrics and eccentric performances. The last time he performed a major festival in Victoria was at Rock The Shores in 2015.
Madisyn Gifford – Dylan Willows Stage (5:00)
Vancouver’s Madisyn Gifford is a folk-pop artist with a country tinge. Her fourth album ‘A Quiet Contemplation of Sunshine’ was released in April 2025.
Tiger Really – Dylan Willows Stage (6:00)
Tiger Really is a “jazzy” emo band from Vancouver. Fronted by Lian Shao, Tiger Really mix emo with jazz, punk, folk and indierock. Their sophomore album ‘mayfly daydream’ was released in late February 2026
Jon Bryant – Dylan Willows Stage (7:10)
Jon Bryant is a Vancouver based singer-songwriter originally from Halifax. He has released five albums since 2009 and four new singles in 2026.
Luca Fogale – Dylan Willows Stage (8:45)
Luca Fogale is a Burnaby singer-songwriter. His 2023 album ‘Run Where The Light Calls’ was nominated for a Juno Award twice. His latest album ‘Challenger’ was released in January
Sunday July 12
Darrian Gerard – Main Stage (3:30)
Darrian Gerard is a pop-rock singer and multi-instrumentalist from Duncan. Her music draw inspiration from Avril Lavigne, Blink-182, Halsey and Taylor Swift. Gerard was a Zone Band of The Month in June 2024 and performed at Phillips Tilt on the Music BC stage last year.
Fake Shark – Main Stage (4:30)
Fake Shark is an alternative rock band from Vancouver. Their fourth studio album ‘Rhythm Prism’ was released in January. They are best known for their 2021 hit ‘Loser’.
Angine de Poitrine – Main Stage (5:45)
Angine de Poitrine are a math rock duo from Saguenay, Quebec. Once again, Phillips organizers have struck gold in booking one of the most buzzworthy acts in the music industry. The anonymous polka-dot costumed band went viral a few months ago and have been selling out shows ever since. They recently performed to a record setting crowd of 70,000+ at the Montreal JazzFest.
Wolf Parade – Main Stage (7:00)
Wolf Parade is an indie rock band from Victoria. They last headlined a festival on Vancouver Island at Rifflandia 2016. The band has recently had a resurgence when their song ‘I’ll Believe in Anything’ went viral after being featured on an episode of the television series ‘Heated Rivalry’.
Modest Mouse – Main Stage (8:30)
Modest Mouse are an indie rock band from Issaquah, Washington. They were last in Victoria in 2015 headlining Rifflandia. This year marks thirty years since their debut album ‘This Is a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About’. They just released their new album ‘An Eraser and a Maze’ last month.
Amulet – Dylan Willows Stage (4:00)
Amulet are an alternative rock band from Victoria. They were the March 2026 Zone Band of The Month under their original name Idle Lane. Their music is heavily influenced by 90s era bands like Smashing Pumpkins, Jane’s Addiction and Stone Temple Pilots.
Infidelity – Dylan Willows Stage (5:00)
Infidelity is a electronic post-punk duo from Vancouver. One bio describes their music “as if Black Midi wrote Weezer songs”. Their Facebook page says they’re experimental hip-hop. Then their social media posts use #jazzfusion. They clearly are influenced by a wide mix of genres.
Chopping Spree – Dylan Willows Stage (6:30)
Chopping Spree are a Vancouver band that mixes jazz fusion with metal and indie rock. Their debut album ‘Anemoia’ was released in January. Their live shows are described to have “wild, intensely fun stage presence and captivating instrumental play.”
runner – Dylan Willows Stage (8:00)
runner is a Vancouver-based band fronted by Calgary singer-songwriter Kira Cuthbertson. The band’s bio describes their music as a blend of prairie folk, alt-country and indie rock.
