The Victoria Jazz Society has announced Booker T. Jones will return to Victoria as a headliner for the 40th anniversary for the TD Victoria International JazzFest.
Jones will perform Booter T’s Stax Revue on opening night at The Royal Theatre Friday June 21, 2024.
Jones is the first headliner announcement for the festival’s ‘Marquee Series’ at The Royal Theatre. He last performed in Victoria at Victoria Ska & Reggae Fest 2017.
The Four-time Grammy Award winner will perform his hits with the MGs and classics recorded on Stax Records by legendary artists. The Stax Revue features a ten-piece big band with three lead vocalists.
Tickets go on sale Friday December 1, 2023 at the Royal McPherson box office and rmts.bc.ca. Ticket prices start at $59.50
More headliners will be announced in the new year and the full festival lineup will be revealed in early April 2024.
