A Spice Girl is coming to Victoria.
Melanie C, also known as Sporty Spice in the pop girl-group will perform a DJ Set at Royal Athletic Park for Rifflandia on Sunday September 17, 2023.
Mel C rose to fame with the Spice Girls after the release of their smash hit ‘Wannabe’ in 1996. She has released 8 albums since she became a solo artist in 1998.
She joins Herbie Hancock, Stephen Marley, KALEO and Victoria’s Miina on the Sunday lineup of the festival. Her set time has not been confirmed and there is no official word if her addition is due to another artist dropping out.
Her addition to the festival comes after a huge first weekend for Rifflandia at Electric Avenue that was closed out Saturday with 8,000 attendees for Saturday headlined by Run The Jewels. That weekend also featured Paris Hilton performing an overall well received DJ set Friday night.
The rest of the lineup at Royal Athletic Park features Iggy Pop, Diplo, Salt-N-Pepa, Mavis Staples, Marc Rebillet, Suicidal Tendencies, Chet Faker and more.
General Admission passes for The Park are currently $345 for the full weekend or $155 for the Sunday Melanie C will be performing. More info is available at rifflandia.com
