In a statement posted to Facebook, Copper Owl owners Renee Crawford and Jzero Schuurman announced that beginning in January, the Copper Owl is changing hands and a new owner will take over.
Booked events will continue to run until the end of January and then the venue will close for a period of time.
The Copper Owl has hosted close to 2000 events since opening in March 2013. From concerts to private functions, the unique little space beside Paul’s Motor Inn has been a fixture in the local music scene. The very first show on March 8, 2013 featured Victoria bands The Chantrelles and Le Rat.
The statement does not say who the new owners are. When asked who is taking over the club, Assitant Manager Jzero Schuurman said, “We can’t share any of that info at this time.”
