After the sudden bankruptcy and cancellation of the Pemberton Music Festival last week, a number of music festivals across the country, such as Ontario’s WayHome Music Festival, have offered their support to ticket buyers stuck in refund limbo by offering a free ticket exchange to attend their event. Two of those festivals are right here on Vancouver Island.
On May 21, 2017 the Legends Valley Music Festival in Lake Cowichan announced that they are offering Pemberton ticket holders to present their Pemberton tickets “at the gate and the first 250 tickets of any type will be exchanged for a General Admission Weekend Pass to Legends Valley Music Festival. All other Pemberton Music Festival tickets presented at the gate will be offered 25% off admission price on any ticket category.”
On May 24, 2017 Tall Tree Music Festival in Port Renfrew announced they also will offer 250 Pemberton pass holders the chance to exchange their pass for Tall Tree general admission passes on a first come first serve basis.
“Tall Tree believes strongly in the bringing together of people and music to celebrate life on the west coast,” comments Emmalee Brunt, PR & Communications Manager for Tall Tree Music Festival. “Following the news of Pemberton’s cancellation, notably that ticket holders would not receive a refund, festival organizers decided to offer a ticket for ticket exchange to provide those who suddenly found themselves out of pocket and without a festival experience this summer.”
