Victoria DJ/producer Wyatt Compagna, known in the music community as Lewd Bahavior died Sunday January 11, 2015 after battling a rare bone cancer called Osteosarcoma. Throughout his fight with the disease he continued to make music and even performed at Glastonbury Festival last June. Wyatt Compagna was 22.

Since news of his passing came out, tributes from friends and colleagues have flooded his Facebook account. His family has tentatively scheduled a celebration of his life for Saturday January 24, 2015. Update: The celebration of life will be held at The Pacific Fleet Club (Junior Ranks Mess) in Esquimalt (1587 Lyall Street) and will begin around 3pm according to posts in the Facebook Event.

The family has also been asked if there are any charities people can donate to in Wyatt’s honour to which a family member stated on facebook:
“Without the Red Cross, we wouldn’t have been able to provide the care Wyatt needed in the comfort of his own house. Being at home was very important to Wyatt and the Red Cross was a god send for us during the last 18 months: http://www.redcross.ca/donate/

The Victoria Hospice provided Wyatt’s care for a majority of the last couple months and there is no doubt in my mind that the nurses and staff from Victoria Hospice genuinely care about their patients. Of course, they especially loved Wyatt. For some reason the government only funds 50% of the hospice, they match what is donated. Donating to the hospice would be another great option: http://www.victoriahospice.org/how-you-can-help/give-gift-today

Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
