A blog post on January 10, 2014 by The Province newspaper’s Stuart Derdeyn has spread a rumour originated from U2 fan gossip sites that BC might be a rehearsal spot for U2’s next world tour. More specificly, The blog posts reports:
“Vancouver Island’s Save-On Foods Arena has open dates in February and the Province was tipped that the venue could be U2’s for that time.”
Could U2 be making a stop in Victoria to rehearse for their next tour? Or is this just a rumour being spread by The Province to gain page views?

UPDATE Jan. 10, 2014 9PM: CTV Vancouver Island confirmed that Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre was considered as a rehearsal venue, but when the band’s concert engineers asked arena staff to make changes to accommodate the production, the arena refused.
What the arena was asked to do is unknown. It is now believed that Vancouver’s Pacific Coliseum will end up being the rehearsal site.
