Portugal The Man, Shaggy and Third Eye Blind will headline Laketown Shakedown 2023 Canada Day long weekend in the Cowichan Valley.
The three-day festival at Lake Cowichan’s 275 acre Laketown Ranch will take place Friday June 30 to Sunday July 2, 2023.
Third Eye Blind will headline day one of the festival with their catalogue of late 90s hits like ‘Semi-Charmed Life’ and ‘Jumper’. The San Francisco rockers were supposed to headline the festival in 2020, but a certain world-wide incident threw a wrench in those plans.
Grammy award winning band Portugal, The Man will make their Vancouver Island debut at Laketown Shakedown. The Portland, Oregon based band will headline Canada Day.
Shaggy returns to the island for the first time since 2017. He’ll close out the festival with a “Boombastic” set of reggae and dance hall vibes.
The undercard includes a diverse set of artists from different genres and music eras.
Seattle’s Reignwolf is back on the island for the first time in 6 years. When he made his Victoria debut opening at Rock The Shores nearly a decade ago, his guitar playing blew so many minds that he received a rare opening act encore.
The 1990s will further represented by Everlast performing his solo and House of Pain hits, Bif Naked and Danish dance-pop band Aqua. Everlast will be performing a mix of his solo work and hits from House of Pain. Aqua is sure to bring the same fun 90s Much Music era nostalgia that Sugar Ray and Smash Mouth brought to previous editions of the festival.
Other notable Canadians in the lineup include hip-hop artists SonReal and Classified, 2023 Dance Recording of The Year Juno Award Winner RĂŞve, 2010 Rifflandia headliner K’naan and DJ Shub.
Victoria artists include The New Groovement, Righteous Rainbows of Togetherness, GI Blunt, Shale, The Gaff, Pastel Blank, DJ All Good, Jennay Badger, Blase Blase, Wet Future and DJ Primitive
