Sunfest Country Music Festival and Laketown Shakedown have both been postponed until 2021.
Organizers of both Laketown Ranch events made the announcement on their websites and social media. Both festivals are cancelling this year’s editions due to the COVID-19 pandemic and guidelines from government and health officials.

Sunfest will return July 29 to August 1, 2021 and Laketown Shakedown has been rescheduled to July 1 to July 3, 2021.

Both festivals have laid out options for passes already purchased.

Sunfest:
Sunfest ticket holders can choose to hold onto their ticket for a future Sunfest Country Festival (valid for 2 years) or receive a full refund (less the ticket processing fee). Those who choose to keep their ticket for next year will be invited to a private function on July 29, 2021. Emails from the ticketing company on how to receive a credit or refund will begin next week.

Laketown Shakedown:
Laketown Shakedown pass holders can choose to hold onto their passes and they will be honoured in 2021 or receive a full refund (less the ticket processing fee). Those who choose to keep their passes will receive early camping entry next year and an invite to an exclusive show on June 30, 2021. Emails from the ticketing company with instructions will also begin next week.

Those with any questions are asked to send a message to the festival social media accounts or email [email protected]

The Lake Cowichan, BC festivals are the latest of numerous large-scale summer events on Vancouver Island to cancel due to the current health crisis and are likely not the last.
