15. Steph Macpherson at V.I.C. Fest 2013 Song Writers Circle- Bells & Whistles [with Ryan Guldemond] (June 22, 2013)
This video would rank much higher had I not screwed up my audio recording. My stereo mics got disconnected from my audio recorder accidently when I bent down to frame my shot so unfortunately this video only has audio from the camera’s crappy built in mic. This moment still makes the top 20 because while Steph Macpherson performed her single ‘Bells & Whistles’ at V.I.C. Fest’s Songwriter’s Circle workshop Ryan Guldemond of Mother Mother, who was also on the panel, out of nowhere starts accompanying Steph with his guitar.
That was only one of a number of memorable performances and moments by Steph. She won a Monday Magazine M Award for Favourite Solo Artist, won Island Artist of the Year at the 2013 Vancouver Island Music Awards and performed at the gala, was nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award, was part of a great collaboration cover of Mumford & Sons’ ‘I Will Wait’ with & The Raven, and performed at Rifflandia and the Bayview Place Roundhouse Centennial.
