A few local artists have released Christmas music for download recently. Victoria’s Sam Weber and Vancouver’s Luca Fogale released a 2-song EP covering Joni Mitchell’s ‘River’ and a cover of Christmas classic ‘White Christmas’.
Hawk and Steel released a cover of ‘I Wish It Was Christmas Today’, a song made famous by Horatio Sanz and Jimmy Fallon on Saturday Night Live. Horatio Sanz actually purchased an mp3 from the band and retweeted the link to the cover.
Zerbin released a 4-song Christmas EP on Noisetrade for free download including ‘Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuel,’ ‘Got Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,’ ‘For All,’ and ‘Fall’
Current Swell have released an original Christmas song called ‘Christmas Alone’ which is part of a Christmas compilation album of Nettwerk artists. The song isn’t free, but is available for purchase on iTunes You can preview the song at Current Swell’s SoundCloud
